Simon Goldberg

Territory Manager, Norcal



Simon comes to us from the Berkeley Bowl, where he wore many hats. Initially brought on to lead the Point of Sale Department, he went on to become the Assistant Grocery Buyer, Frozen Foods Buyer and Housewares Buyer during his time there.

 

 

After obtaining a BA in History from the University of California Santa Cruz, he took a job with Patagonia, a company that shares his values of respecting the environment and giving back to the community. After a few years of learning the Patagonia way, Simon decided to seek a career that married his true passion in life (food) with his professional ambition. He found his way to Berkeley Bowl, an iconic Californian grocer.

 

 

Simon's knowledge of regional and national industry trends positions him ideally to approach all of our brands from the buyer’s perspective. Having spent years on the other side of the buying table, he understands what retailers are looking for when considering a new product or the next store display. 

 

 

When not astride on his bike, Simon can be found hiking in one of the Bay Areas many beautiful parks or cooking alongside his fiancée, Tarah, in their cozy Berkeley kitchen. Simon is an avid backpacker, disc golf player and downhill skier, but still finds time to knock out the New York Times Sunday Crossword on a weekly basis.
